Symptoms of depression, lack of enjoyment, and reduced motivation are present in many different psychiatric disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.  As part of collaborative research conducted with Dan Wolf and Joe Kable, we seek to understand how common mechanisms of dysfunction within the brain's reward system results in such symptoms across traditional categories of psychiatric illness.  To do so, we use multi-modal brain imaging, computational models, and neuroeconomic probes of reward-related decision making.
