Sage grew up in Perkasie, PA and eventually moved ~80 miles southwest to Lancaster, PA to complete her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Psychology at Franklin & Marshall College. She completed an honor thesis that investigated the effects of anabolic-androgenic steroids on the prefrontal cortex in male rats, and soon realized that animal research was not for her.

After graduating magna cum laude in May 2015, she accepted a position in Dr. Satterthwaite’s lab as a Clinical Research Coordinator, where she worked on human subject studies that examined brain development in healthy individuals and those with neuropsychiatric illnesses. She was later promoted to a senior coordinator position, managing all of Dr. Satterthwaite’s clinical research studies and training and supervising staff on clinical research interviews, cognitive testing, MRI acquisition, data management, and administrative duties. While at the lab, she completed her master’s degree in human development at Penn’s Graduate School of Education. Most recently, she was promoted to be the Clinical Research Manager for the Penn-CHOP LifeSpan Brain Institute. In this role, she continues to provide clinical training and expertise for members of the lab.

Outside of work and school, Sage enjoys reading, spending time outside, yoga, Pilates, eating her husband’s delicious meals, and spending time with family and friends.
